Some students are having trouble printing numbers in the teens. Here is a song that we have been practicing to help us out!
Students have worked very hard in order to be able to read to self for 10 minutes! Way to go Grade One!
We are SO lucky at CHSMES to have Chicky Polches and other volunteers come to our school each and every Friday morning to cook us pancakes for breakfast. As you can see students absolutely love them!
September is a review month in Grade One. Students have been busy revisiting outcomes that they have learned in Kindergarten. Some students are still having difficult counting backwards from 20 without any visual cues. Here is a song that we LOVE to sing in class to help us with this sometimes difficult task. ENJOY!
What a wonderful first day of Grade One! Here are a couple photos for you to enjoy.
Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year at C.H.S.M.E.S.! My name is Karlee Muise and I am going to be your child’s first grade teacher. I know that we will have many wonderful experiences and opportunities to learn and grow in the days ahead.
Please send your child to school with indoor sneakers as well as a healthy (peanut free) lunch and recess snack each day. Also, in order to avoid misplacing their belongings, be sure to label them all. Personal items such as toys and iPods are not permitted at school unless otherwise stated.
Communication throughout the year is very important. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. You can send me an email at email@example.com or simply call the school after 2:00pm. Be sure to check the Grade One section under ‘Ms. Muise’ on our school website (chsmes.ca) to take a peek at all the awesome things we are doing in our classroom!
I look forward to working with you and your child throughout the school year!
Students and staff enjoyed competing in CHSMES' second winter olympic games.
I am proud of all grade one students! They ALL displayed teamwork, sportsmanship and of course enthusiasm!
(Note: Many of the pictures are of the same students because I took part in eventsonly with students in my clan).
Grade One sure does appreciate our volunteers that come every Friday to make pancakes and recess snacks!
Woliwon to everyone that helps!
Here is a song to help you with your doubles facts!
